Some reviews seem very shallow. First impact is dramatic, beyond easy description. Each cross in this unbelievable mass outpouring of human emotion reflects an individual soul with their own thoughts, feelings, trouble, aspirations; not necessarily from any religious perspective. Lithuanians kept reestablishing this Hill of Crosses each time the Russians tore it down. A quiet spiritual location - glad we stopped

The Hills of crosses near Siauliai, Lithuania is a place of pilgrimage and an interesting place to visit. After Lithuania became a part of the Russian empire, Poles and Lithuanians rebelled unsuccessfully against the Russioan authorities in 1831 and 1863. The families could not locate...More

Discover Lithuania can arrange this for you. In fact, I wanted to do this with them but I didn't know they offered this service till after I had already purchased airline tickets.
