We had been debating where to do a great hike, and after much deliberation we settled on this hike- We read that the 1050 steep stairs at the end of a 9k hike was...a little tough, so we opted to park our car at Espinuca...More
I advise to start on Areinho, in which the beginning is very hard, but after passing by the ticket office (at about 1,5km), the walk is really pleasant.
We stopped at Praia do Vau, but unfortunately there was a warning stating the water was contaminated...More
My family and I really enjoyed this long walk (we did the easier path from Areinho to Espiunca). We stopped a couple of times in clearings along the river and took a bath in that fresh and reinvigorating water. The views are awesome3

Now this is a walk I will remember!
Wonderful wooden pathways for almost all the way and also a suspension bridge (which is not part of the route, but just for admiring the views).
Start from Areinho, it’s little easier that way. There’s parking space...More
