We arrived in time for the feeding of the 100 hound dogs (I think it was 11:30, it's on their website). It was so much fun watching how excited the dogs got at feeding time and how the trainer gets them all to be quiet...More

Chateau de Cheverny is beautiful. Buildings, gardens, and items are very well maintained and they covered several years of French history. It is an extensive area and be prepared to walk a lot. They also keep hunting dogs in a kennel in the Castle property...More

This was an excellent contrast to Chambord as it has been continuously inhabited by the same family for the last 600 years. Lovely to see the interior decoration and appreciate the family's ongoing involvement with the Chateau.

The château has beautiful rooms full of furniture, paintings and tapestry. It also reminded me of children's favorite comic, Tin Tin. It's very nice to see they have the exhibition devoted to this.

I had the pleasure of visiting this chateau in 1966, yes 1966. It was the opening day of the hunt. Walking up to the front entrance is like being in a fairytale. The Alphorns welcomed guests. The hounds were released and everyone headed out. The...More
