Near cemeteries. This is a simple memorial and not an explanation of what happened. Go to the museum or the open air levee explanation for the details.

We just happened upon the memorial while touring other cemeteries in the area. It was a humbling experience to see the memorial and all the blank plates of the unknown victims. A must visit!

This was a beautiful tribute to the unknown deceased victims of hurricane Katrina. The design is unique and the memorial plaques are beautifully worded.

Our nighttime cemetery tour brought us to the Katrina Memorial and told us the story behind it. It is beautiful and touching. Please make sure to stop here and take in the beauty and love behind the memorial.

This is so sobering! The Katrina Memorial is built on what they call Cemetery Row in New Orleans, Louisiana to honor the victims and evacuees from Katrina. The names of each victim from Katrina is etched on the wall and filled with gold leaf. We...More

If you can get out to the memorial, I would recommend that everyone should pay their respects to those who lost their lives during Hurricane Katrina. We took the Canal St, streetcar and it took about 40 mins.

it's worth a visit, but maybe not a large detour.. it's an attractive memorial. It's in the center of a few cemeteries, maybe combine this with a visit to one of those.

It’s hard to think what this city went through with hurricane Katrina. No better way to honour those who lost their lives and for the massive impact it had on their lives. It’s a must visit and can be included with many city tours.
