“modern art”(274 reviews)
The circular Frank Lloyd Wright-designed building is as much of a draw as the museum's collection of modern art.

Most of the art in this place is garbage (pronounced GAR-BAAJE), especially floors three and up. When I was here last weekend, they had a special Basquiat exhibit on the top floor, consistent with the Guggenheim's apparent plan for the art to become increasingly awful...More

The architecture of the building is what we really went to see. It was definitely an interesting and cutting edge design for it's time. Modern art isn't really my type of art, so I didn't find the exhibits to be that interesting. I gave it...More

I have long wanted to visit the Guggenheim- the building itself is part of the experience. Thoroughly enjoyable and a genuine must see.

If you are not an art lover, you still should visit the Guggenheim to walk around the floors of the building. The building itself is a work of modern art to experience. Make sure you take time to go into one of the single use...More

The Guggenheim museum building is magnificent. Quite an architectural feat to design and complete. Displays are modern art and somewhat hard to interpret. Not exactly my favorite to see but marveling at the building was fun.

I was not as impressed as I had expected. The collection on display is good but not top notch. If to choose rather go to MoMa or Met

Although I am not an arts or museum expert, I decided to try the FREE admission day (Sat) and take a quick look. Overall, it was an interesting experience. Depending on what you're most interested in terms of art (photography, expressionism, etc...), I recommend to...More

My husband had never been to the Guggenheim so we walked the 40 blocks to visit. We love art museums and when in large cities plan to see at least one. We were both sadly disappointed at the installations here. Both of us agreed that...More

Such a stunning building architecturally but I’ve seen better exhibits in my local library. Not sure why galleries, museums and memorials in the US charge 20-30$ entry it should be a national right to see a piece of history, art or a place of remembrance...More

We visited on a Saturday in August 2019, there was a very short line to purchase tickets, and museum was not super crowded, and we were able to see all exhibits without any problem.

Actually, no - it's not too bad at all. Not like going to cinema where you often need a fleece to stop freezing.
