You can spend a few hours here on the plantation. We took the train ride which is nice, a little on the expensive side. The dole whip was good, but prefer the float. However the chocolate demonstration was a Joke. We waited about 15 minutes...More

Visiting the Dole Plantation is a great way to spend several hours. There are plenty of things to do but the best is the 20 minute train ride (fee) through the fields. The majority of the fields were recently picked, but still the information and...More

Part of our tour, short visit which included a pineapple picking/cutting demonstration with tasting, light shopping, coffee tasting, and the original dole whip! It would have been nice to explore this place with more of the grounds as well as getting lost in a maze...More

Allow about 2 hours. If selecting as an excursion from a cruise I would not use all day just for that. Suggest get there early to ride train as I have heard lines can be long (though only lasted about 20 minutes) . Good info...More

We came solely for the Dole whip. Which is essentially pinapple icecream. It is THE best thing ever. Soft serve and the only warning is that you will eat it all and wonder why later. It is delicious ya'll.

We loved going to the Dole plantation. We had lunch, did the maze and the garden tour. The portions they served us were huge and reasonably priced. We saw mongooses, chickens, birds, and cats. We had a great time and would go back again!

I really enjoyed the visit. This was part of a stop during the Grand Island Tour. The train ride was very enjoyable. At one point there was a bit of rain but it felt good as even if it was October it was in the...More

The 6 of us visited. We had been here before 8 years ago. Before, it was part of a circle-tour bus stop, and we only stopped for 15 minutes, so wasn't really long enough. This time, we had rented a van, and we could stay...More

The massive and gaudy gift shop was a big turnoff to us as consumers of authentic merchandise. Pretty much everything except a small box of pineapples, was made in China or Indonesia and was very over- priced.

The dole whip itself was worth the drive out from Waikiki. The staff were friendly and the vendor staff especially nice. The garden tour is worth it for some beautiful pictures. Make sure you have time so you can enjoy the other activities ( we...More

There are two local buses that stop right at the Plantation. Check the Dole Plantation website under "resources" and it directs you to the proper bus routes and numbers. Enjoy!

If the teens like gaming and are a little competitive then I would say, yes, it might be fun for them. Full disclosure is that the Plantation gives each entrant a little map and a pencil and you use the map to find 6-8... More
