I went to visit the Maison de Van Gogh after I spent a few days in The Borinage in Belgium. The history of Vincent is alive and well preserved here. The meals at the restaurant are made with care and I was able to meet...More

It's bittersweet to see the small attic room where Van Gogh spent the last 70 days of his life. He created over 80 paintings in this small town -- and would die in this bedroom. Today it has been converted into a shrine of sorts...More

This is the inn where we lived, painted and died from a self inflicted bullet. There are two unadorned rooms above the inn worth seeing where he lived.

The Maison van Gogh is essentially an emotional space. It does not promise razzle dazzle or activity. It promises quiet and solitude and a chance to reflect on the life, work and sad ending of arguably the most popular artist in the history of the...More

A must-see for fans of Van Gogh or others who appreciate the impressionist painters. Other wise you're just looking at a small barren attic room. Don't miss the film/slide show presentation in the adjacent room. Plan no more than 30 minutes. Restaurant downstairs looks nice,...More

Highly recommended for Van Gogh fan otherwise skip it. The slide show layouts details of his life and it is repeated by the tour guide. You are not allowed to photograph the room. It is better to walk around the town which has signs showing...More
