You must pay $8.00 to get into the area to see the lighthouse or to shop and eat. Quite ridiculous even when their premise is that the fee covers maintenance of entire area. Pass this one up.

We climbed all the way up to the top and the view was breathtaking. If climbing is a problem then you may have to wait it out, there are no seats on the landings to rest. Gift shop is full of information about the island.

Touristy shopping area. Nice shops and some tourist traps. Good place for ice cream and a walk along the shore.

We were traveling and decided to stay a night on a Hilton Head Island and so glad we did. Beautiful scenery and wonderful shops. The lighthouse was spectacular surrounded by yachts.

Harbour Town is a neat town center of shops and restaurants. Sea Pines has that typical relaxing island feel. It's the great place for families because of the various tours, ice cream shops, and playground. I like to take tours out of this harbor because...More

Overhyped tourist attractions. You pay $8 to drive through a residential area. Park and walk a small area with restaurants, and boutiques. Several boutiques were closed by 7:00 pm. The lighthouse was built for tourists and you needed to pay more money to go up...More

Harbour Town Lighthouse was a great family outing! After paying $8.00 for the daily pass, we grabbed lunch and checked out the lighthouse. The temp prevented us from walking to the top but this lighthouse is great backdrop from photos! There are plenty of shops...More

I would give yourself about an hour give or take a little, depending on how long you want to spend reading the information along the way and taking photos and enjoying the view on the top of the Lighthouse.
