I have been here several times over the years and it's definitely a very scenic place in northern Chiang Mai. But now they even charge Thais admission and the food for our lunch was very over priced! Just a few snacks and a coke amounted...More

I love this place, it's so relaxing. I've been staying in Chiang Mai for months and months each year and I always find my way back to this place. Not for the sake of the "new" king kong monument but for the restaurant/huts near the...More
A nice place for picnic without the hustle of bringing food. Get food there.
Transportation is something to consider though.
Boating and paddling is available.
Not advised for swimming

We got an air-conditioned taxi for 4 hours for 1200 baht because we wanted a more comfortable ride. We did not negotiate the price. The place where you stay can most probably arrange for a taxi. At the far end of the lake are places where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. It may be difficult to sit with a leg cast on the floor at the bamboo hut restaurants by the lake, but there are also huts where you can sit on benches while you eat.
