Many fun facts presented about Hemmingwsy and guides were very accessible. It was worth the time to visit, many quaint bars nearby for wandering back to town.

The property is beautiful but the house smells due to all the cats. We had to leave the house it was making my wife nauseous.

Thourghly enjoyed the opportunity to experience Hemingway's Key West home. I'd read alot about it, appreciated all the photographs, art, books, even his typewriter and especially the six toed cats. Such a beautiful setting, would recommend!

Tickets were $14 for adults. There is a sign when you come in that says “Do not pick up the cats.” A tour began about 1 minute after we arrived. The tour guide did a nice job explaining Hemingway’s life and times. There are 59...More

Kind of an odd place run by a horde of well behaved cats. Be aware that admission is cash only. The house and grounds are beautiful and well-kept.

Every year the Central Florida Corvette Club makes a caravan to Key West Florida to relax and enjoy the sights. If you are a reader, writer, or history buff.- you have to see this.

This museum is a great place to see what Key West was like. The house that is full of period furniture, with period gardens and plenty of cats makes it really interesting for most people. It was very cool in the house on a hot...More

Hi Lisa No it not necessary. There was a small group standing when we arrived, but it took approximately 5-10 min to get in. You can take a free guided tour inside and trough the garden.
