The Monterey Bay Aquarium is a wonderful day with great exhibits, worthwhile education and helpful support staff. The special feeding demonstrations are unique, get a spot early since it does get crowded. The kelp forest and open ocean tanks are spellbinding and demonstrate the complexity...More

I had mixed emotions about whether or not to include this aquarium on our itinerary for our short stay in Pacific Grove, but am so happy that we did in fact visit it. Had we had more flexibility, we could have spread our visit over...More

We have been to the Monterey Bay Aquarium a number of times, and always have enjoyed our visits. It is one of the best aquariums in North America, and has the advantage of being in a great and beautiful location. The sea otters, jellyfish, kelp...More

The Monterey Bay Aquarium needs no special commentary. Brave the sleazy Cannery Row experience and GO!

We somewhat altered our trip to include Monterey as everyone told us we had to go there. Parked in a garage about 3 blocks away. Were there before it opened and stood in line to buy tickets. Went fairly smoothly. Joked with my wife there...More

I can see the intent is good here but the lack of space for these poor creatures left me feeling very sad. Do they really need to be kept in such small enclosures?

A very enjoyable and informative day spent at the aquarium learning about the ecology and wildlife local to the area. The octopuses fascinated us and we were in awe of deep sea aquarium where we spent a long time transfixed by the shoaling sardines.

$56 each!!! Wtf?? I think we are spoiled in the UK with reduced rates and free museums. Seriously you need to rethink your prices. Anyway after much deliberation we decided to go in as it's apparently a " Must See". We enjoyed the Sea Otters...More

I’d heard about the Aquarium but this was my first visit. It exceeded all expectations in terms of the exhibits and the staff were great. The jellyfish display is absolutely mesmerising. The only downside was that we only had the afternoon, a full day would...More

Booking online is the easiest way to get tickets. Otherwise you will be waiting in line. We got there at 10 and they line was long and moved pretty quick.

When we brought tickets in advance they were for specific dates. We were advised locally (on the Monterey Peninsula) to be at the Aquarium when it opened (9:30) because it got crowded FAST. There was a modest line already by... More
