Komodo airport is about 5 mins drive from town centre. Labuan Bajo town is a gateway to Komodo island. Lots of travel agent offer boat tour packages along Jl Soekarno Hatta.
The package price offer by agent is almost the same, but if you bargain...More
The park itself is great but before I got here I realised there are a lot of warnings about boat operators, lack of life vests etc but not a lot on pricing and tour prices. So I will share what I got. The "official" price...More
We sailed from Ende and cruised along the South coat of Flores to the island of Komodo, which is to the West of Flores. After being in areas where tourists were a rarity, we were well and truly back on the tourist trail again, as...More
We went on a boat trip to Komodo National Park
And saw the Komodo dragons. The rangers were very disappointing in their knowledge and handling of the dragons. The dragons are incredible creatures but the park is a huge let down!
We did a one day tour with BeyondKomodoTours and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were on a cruise ship and opted for a non ship tour experience. We chose Leo and his company based on recommendations, and pre-booked so we could disembark into the National...More
Very happy to see three dragons on our tour....very hot and very dry. Worth the effort though. Our tour was from the Pacific Dawn Cruise ship but there were lots of other tourist boats there as well...I can see why they are closing the National...More
Took the mid-length path and encountered about 4 grown dragons. The guide mentioned that it was mating season so we had fewer encounters. Souvenir shop at the end of the tour were way too over-priced so be cautious what you buy and be prepared to...More

If you can find your way to Beno the port of Flores Island where the boat for Island Hopping (to Komodo Island or Rinca Island and the Padar Island and the Pink beach) tours. There are buses and ferries across Sambawa Island from Lombok and you will need at least two days journey across, but the bus and ferry are cheap. You will have to book a boat for the tour and it is not cheap, For a day trip it will cost 2,000 and above (depend on your bargain) with lunch. Or overnighter from 4,000 RP. Or you can join the group outing by going to the pier and wait for the boats to fill up. If you are 4 and above it is better to book the whole boat but you have to book it overnight as same day booking may not get you a boat and it will cost more.
