The Royal Tombs form an integral part of the Petra experience. It includes some of the largest and most encompassing tombs in the Rose City. The panorama of the Ancient City atop the Urn Tomb is great.
This area deserves 5 stars for the beauty and splendor of the lay-out, the remnants of more than 2 millenia of cultures past. Great place to visit. See the pictures and give your private thoughts to it
The Royal Tombs are located where the Wadi widens after the Treasury to become what's known as the Outer Siq. They are opposite the amphitheatre and are worth a long visit in their own tight.

Arrived at the ancient site besides Petra, after we admired the Treasury, we walk around the site to make it known with another attractions. One of these surprises were the Royal Tombs - some huge constructions, serving for kings' crypts.
The facades of the Royal Tombs, cresting above the wadi and the cardo, drew us in, and forcing us to ask a lot of questions. Getting up close and seeing the silk tomb, for example, is a must see, with all the multi-coloured rock. Entering...More
