Currently being renovated so not as much on display as usual but worth the visit. Artefacts are well displayed and labelled in Albanian and English, and of very good quality. Allow 45 minutes. 300Lek.

Well displayed small museum with very helpful curator. The second floor was closed when we visited in August 2019. We hope to visit again when it will be open.

The museum gives a pretty good picture of life in Dyrrachium as Durres was known for Romans some 2000 ago. It has information in English and there is a lot of interesting info to read. I took photos of some texts and read later to...More

Well worth the visit. All the exhibits are well described. A part of the museum was closed but still, what you get to see is very interesting and well presented.

We visited the museum at approximately 1:30pm, it was supposed to be open until 4pm, but we found it closed and the doors were locked. Extremely disappointing. Based on the reviews, they open and close when they feel like it.

In the museum we found out that Durres is one of the ancient cities in the world. The exhibition was only on the ground floor, full of ancient artifacts, statues and vases. Tickets were cheap.

In the museum you can admire objects, amphoras, funeral monuments both from Greek and Roman periods. This is the biggest archaeological museum in Albenia and all you'll see comes from Duress. Worth to see!

Lots of great information and ancient artefacts really made this place worth abit of time, only one floor was open unfortunately but still good for the cheap price.

This new museum contains a tight collection of local archaeology housed in a well-organized, modern structure. Definitely worth visiting.

I believe that the museum is open daily except Mondays but I could be mistaken. The hours are unusual and something like 9am to 11am and 4pm to 7pm. They are closed in the middle of the day. My guide book had the hours... More
