I was taken here by my tour guide and marveled at the structure for some time. My tour guide had excellent knowledge of the history of the stones. Great piece of history. Its almost like Tonga's version of the stone henge.

An amazing structure built sometime around 12ooAD. Not too much to look at but still worth a short visit for Tonga's version of Stonehenge. I enjoyed the history side but the kids were quickly bored. Unlike Stonehenge you can get up close and touch the...More

Fascinating to see in person. Sort of their Stonehenge. How did they do that is a question you will have. Excellent photo ops.

Fascinating look into some history in Tonga. Sadly our taxi driver, 'scenic guide' was a bit scratchy with his English and explanations of the Ha'amonga'a. Fortunately the signage gave more detail ... little hard to read as is placed quite far off the ground. Still...More

When you see this, you can then start to understand why the Tongan at one point in time ruled the South Pacific. Spectacular. And the friendly locals will be happy to sell you there shells and jewelry as well.

This was a stop off for us on an island sightseeing tour but really glad we got to visit a site of such historical importance. The signage is really informative and there are public bathrooms located here which were clean and tidy. There are local...More
