Though the beach is still popular, the elegant splendor that once graced this seaside resort community barely shows through the paved-over streets, fast-food eateries and shopping centers.

This beach is idyllic at the end of the day, fine white sand, surfers, dogs on the beach and those iconic multicoloured wooden change rooms. Loved it. Locals did advise us to leave all our belongings at home though, including phones and not leave anything...More

The colorful buildings along with the beautiful beach and surrounding landscape was worth the stop. Easy to see without having to leave walkways - if you don't want to walk on the sand.

One of the best beaches I saw in Cape Town. It is rather big and appears to be a very good place for surfing. (It's very windy). The beach is famous for the little coloured houses, which are postcard essencials in Cape Town. If you're...More

The iconic huts are looking a bit sad. Covered in graffiti, and one had been soiled.... The beach itself is nice, but the surrounds aren't anything special with plenty of abandoned buildings. If you want a beach hut photo, continue along the coastal road for...More

We were overwhelmed with the people who couldn't wait to be at the beach, our kids had a ball of a time and the beach was clean and very well controlled by the police services and patrol as well as the life guards and shark...More

A beautiful stretch of beach perfect for walking, swimming, surfing and just generally relaxing. The colourful houses are quaint and add to the charm of this beach. The paved promenade area was looking “tired” and unkempt when we were there. The severe drought meant that...More

We heard so many wonderful things about Muizenberg Beach and were excited to visit with our kids. In the public bathroom/changing room there was no toilet paper. Upon asking the attendant, she brought out one roll. The showers were not working. To make matters worse,...More
