Whether you are just wanting to take a stroll along the promenade or you want to join thousands of people doing the Park Run on a Saturday morning, this is the place to go. Safe, secure with good restaurants along the way.

The Golden Mile is an extremely popular and safe place to enjoy leasurely strolls or active exercise. Great place for kiddies to learn to ride a bike or scoot around on pushbikes in a car free zone with the amazing Indian Ocean as a backdrop....More

It has not been maintained the way it should be, it has the opportunity to be an awesome place to go to but I don't believe its as family-friendly or as safe as it use to be even using on your own. It has some...More

Best place to take young kids. Lots of convenient places to eat. All the way from Blue Lagoon to uShaka. Ride bikes, skateboards, roller blades etc. Wide open spaces, beautiful views and very reliable weather!

Durban Golden Mile, for me was not so golden anymore. To many beggars, very dirty, very loud, it has just lost some of its lusture. I enjoyed the youth that do the 'traditional' dancers along the mile but found the eateries ridiculously expensive. And you...More

One can take a slow relaxing walk looking at the ocean and the buildings. For exercise you can do the whole 6 kilometers.

Unfortunately one of the most run-down promenades we ever saw. The hotels and houses along the golden mile are far from being shiny and glamorous as one would expect. Only locals are seen there. No restaurants and facilities that make you want to get out...More

The Golden Mile is a great promenade to walk on. If you're lucky you'll see magnificent sand art, made by one of the local people. However, you need to be vigilant as there are opportunists around who may become interested in your handbag, etc. There...More

Hi. You may not find a wheelchair but you could hire a rickshaw which will be a unique experience. You will find these on the promenade and no booking is needed.

I agree with the two responses already sent, that the best way is by taking a taxi. There is also parking available to leave your car while on a cruise. Trust this will assist.
