The locals here are very super-friendly and charming in many ways. We went for a brief swim, as the water was a little rough and we didn’t want to venture too far from the shoreline. The beach sand was nice to walk on, and we...More

If you watch carefully you will see turtles surfing in the waves, very close to the shore. There are a few turtles called Monica and Rosie, plus a few of their friends, that come right up to the shore edge, and you can feed them sea grass!! This happens right in front of the Hikkaduwa Tranz Hotel. Any of the local hotels and restaurants will tell you the best viewing place.
