Like its near namesake the Kale Fortress in Skopje, this place is far less grand and imposing once you actually enter its walls. That said, unlike Kale Fortress, the views here are much better: the walls offer sweeping and highly photographable vistas over Prizren.

The fortress is a short, but steep walk up from town. It'll take 15-30 minutes to walk around and see it all. The best part though is the views down to the town from the fortress. I recommend going near sunset - you'll get some...More

I recommend both the castle and the surroundings, where you can make a circular route from Prizren following the river up through the forest, around 6 km.

Overlooking the city of Prizren, this 11th century fortress is small but still in decent shape for being so old. The walk up the hill could be moderately difficult for some individuals. At the top are panoramic views of the city as well as information...More

It was a hot day and even early before 10 am the climb up to the fortress was a sweaty one. It's actually ruins of a former fortress facing almost 1000 - 700 years back, so in that sense well worth a visit. As you...More

A good 20-30 minute strenuous walk up to the fortress and although a ruin still interesting. Worth the effort if only for the views of the town.

it is a tough grunt up to the top but the views are fantastic. it is small and being worked on. some info signs and for something nearly 1600 years old it is pretty nice to see.
