All manner of salt, shades of white and pink, all fed from an underground sea of salty water deep within the mountains. Amazing, out of this world sight, looks so alien. You can taste the various salts and buy small quantities from the little shops at the entrance too.

The area is as depicted in the photograph, where evaporation from relatively small pans is used to extract salt from a stream that comes from underground. I have seen salt pans before, but never on a hillside and never on this scale.
