Vast area with impressive ruins allowing for a great walk around the grounds. A bit overshadowed by the massive temples of Baalbek nearby, yet absolutely worth a stop.

Yes, Baalbek is worth 1000 times more, but this site is very interesting too, and not badly preserved
It’s a good place to see while you are in Beirut, we had a day tour visit all highlights but I would suggest to go there first since there is no crowds
The last time I saw such a cracking site such as this was in Syria (before the war) and even then not sure which if the two best reflects the splendor of such ancient towns but I think Aanjar probably gets the prize for being the best!
