Sao Paulo seems to really be trying to clean things up... while visiting the Estacao da Luz the sidewalks here and around the park across the street were very clean, the station lobby was being refurbished (and is STUNNING), and the station itself was spotless,...More

If you're across the street at Pinocateca, by all means cross the street and check this out. Budget 20 minutes, it's worth it. Beautiful building in nice shape. Station reminds me of a classic European train station. I didn't find the place scary, yeah a...More

This old train station still operating and it is beautiful! Situated across from Pinacoteca you should stop. Just be careful entering the building and using your cell phone for pictures.

The inside feels like the works of Eiffel with lots of iron, the outside is nice, vibrantly orange. But - it may feel shady at times because there are lots of homeless. From there to the Pinacoteca, don't go straight - change sidewalk first!

Built next to Luz Garden, the city's first public garden, Luz Station, built with imported materials from England, stands out in the landscape for the beauty of its architecture. Its clock tower gives a nostalgic look to the landscape.

I'm by no means a prude, but this station was gross, all the main entrances had prostitutes soliciting in the doorway. I'm not against people trying to make a living, it's just that the whole place feels dangerous. The parque was even worse. I'm fit...More

The architecture is from the end of the XIX century. People say they brought the steel structure from London and they only assembled it in here. I find it so beautiful that my wife and I decide to have a pre wedding photo shoot in...More

If you go visit the Pinacoteca Art Museum, walk across the street to the train station for a quick visit. The train station is not a place to go visit by itself, but I like old train stations. They have done a good job of...More

Estação da Luz as it's known in Portuguese is a beautiful old world train station that is still in use. There isn't a whole lot to do other than just walk through and look at it, but it's worth stopping and taking a picture, particularly...More

Very nice construction. The station was built in the late 19th century. In the first decades of the 20th century, it was the main entrance to the city, a fact that gave it a major economic relevance, because the majority of the coffee from Santos...More

To truly know São Paulo, you have to start at the old
centre, full of history and landmarks with stories to
tell. Get a taste of local food at the Municipal
Market, and if you are brave enough, head to the
crowded shopping street “25 de março” for cheap deals
on a wide assortment of items. Beautiful buildings in
this area include the Post Office Building, Luz
Station, Pagé Gallery, Pateo do Colegio and the iconic
