Fun to see the local produce, sweets, meat etc. Many small stalls with all sorts of items and a good many restaurants. We ate at one and enjoyed it. There was a band and people dancing.

This was a nice spot to visit on the weekend. There was some live music playing on a stage with a standing area, a few solo acts around the area, and some very good restaurants serving platters of meat with great rice, chips and other...More

Be careful outside as lots of unwanted attention . When you get through the security gate and pay it’s a lot safer. Lots of local produce . Not really stuff that I was interested in as it’s a bit cheap and tacky ( but went...More

Not only did I like this place because there were so many locals, it's also a nice place to see their food and other local products. The market is traditional and the food was very delicious. Even if we are used to high standards and...More

It's possible that this is a cool spot to visit on weekends, but it's not worth the trip out on a weekday, especially with rain. Almost all of the vendors are gone, and the place seems kind of sad. I'd try it again on a...More

If you like the northeast area of the country, that’s the place for you. Great food anywhere in one of the restaurants, souvenirs of all kinds and very nice people everywhere. They have live shows as well and there’s a lot of fun!

The northeasteners helped to make Rio what it is nowadays, left their homeland to come work and make a living here; this area is a way for them to feel back home somehow, with their music, foods and culture. There are stands and kiosks, as...More

Come here on a weekend afternoon - you won't regret it. There are many places selling all kinds of stuff, good restaurants, but the best part is the live shows, with great music and locals dancing and singing. Great, authentic experience.
