Kamakura is so worth the 1hr trip from Tokyo and this shrine is a 'must do' stop. Easy to find from the station, just walk up the main shopping street.

The shrine building it self was pretty nice, though there are much better ones in Japan. For me, the best part was the beautiful gardens and ponds filled with large flowering lily pads, and koi fish.

Really neat temple with impressive architecture, bridges, koi and lily pad ponds and goshuin calligraphers for those collecting temple stamps. A must visit in Kamakura.

I enjoyed walking around the grounds of the shrine and I bought a ticket for 200 yen and went through the museum. The pond on the grounds is very beautiful as well.

The shrine is well kept and you can get a fortune for 100 yen. It is a good place for photos and it is relatively close to the Big Buddha.
