My wife and I caught the small bus from Bizet and got off by the amphitheatre, we were surprised that entrance is free. Of course there are a lot of bigger/better Roman ruins around Europe, but this one is not crowded, free and has stunning...More
Walked up from the bay through little streets, across a main road to get there. It's free, no one there, it's still being organised to be a proper tour attraction I think. Impressive structure and glad I saw it but was only there 10/15 minutes.
Dates back to the 4th century BC and is one of the oldest stone theatres in the world.
It was thought to have seated 10.000 people, now following restoration it seats around 3000 and is still used for artistic and cultural activities.
Free to get...More
This is one of the places they'll stop at if you do the City Tours ect. It's OK, but nothing spectacular, especially if you've travelled and seen many of these on a much grander scale. I suppose it's a good photo opportunity, but I wouldn't...More
The amphitheater is on the side of the main Bodrum road and a tourist attraction. It’s a fantastic piece of history and architecture and well worth a look.
The views over Bodrum are good too.
In high season concerts are held here too.
Very interesting place to see. Entry cost is cheap and the information is limited to a couple of small boards in English. However, use your imagination and loose yourself in the arena. Great view from the too steps.

It is on the main road from Bodrum to Turgutreis. I don't know where you are in Bodrum but from the marina or castle area (centrum/downtown) it is approx. 2 km. You can have taxi. The cost will be acceptable. Or there are minibuses from the central station (which is very close to castle area by walking) you can ask for the one which passes in front of theatre. From other bays, like Günbay, Turna etc. it is better to have public transport to the downtown then trying to reach theatre. Even some of them can use a route which could has a stop in front of theatre.
