We went to see a performance of Swan Lake at this theatre. The theatre is rather lovely. It is quite small so you would always get a good view. The performance was very good (the principal dancers were brilliant and the orchestra was excellent).

We watched Swan Lake at the Theatre. The ballet performance was excellent. The Hall is beautiful but not as impressive as many other theatres in Europe. If you are serious about watching the performance you have to arrive really early as it is free seating....More

A very nice performance. The layout of the theater is such that essentially everyone has a good seat.

Good theater with beautiful interiors. You feel vip as seating is limited. Only you should go bit early as it is free seating. Ballet was beautiful.

On my recent trip to St Petersburg I had the pleasure of attending a performance of Swan Lake in the Hermitage Theatre. I enjoyed every minute of it, but must say the best seats are in the back, that was where I was sitting. So...More

Fantastic show in an intimate theater. Tips: go early, at least an hour before the start which is usually 7:30. The seats are unnumbered and side seats may be poor. Tour groups show up and take a lot of seats. Also, do not purchase a...More

Saw swan lake ballet which was excellent but the theater sold too many tickets and there wasn’t enough seats for everyone to sit as there are no assigned seats. We were squished in like sardines which made for a very bad bad experience. I paid...More

I'm writing this during the second intermission of a Swan Lake performance. The orchestra and the principal dancers are excellent, especially Odette, and the intimate venue makes for a great way to see the dancers' expressions. However, as many reviews have stated, there are many...More

I went there to see Swan Lake. It was really bad experience. Theater is small and overcrowded. It seems they had people sitting almost in orchestra pit, just behind the conductor. There is no air conditioner and it was very hot and stuffy. I felt...More

Visited the Hermitage Theatre tonight to see Swan Lake. Gorgeous setting and excellent performance. It’s ‘free seating’, so get there early and choose seats near to the rear and centre for the best views!

It is quite touristy, but the building and area is so iconic that you expect it to be busy. Seeing a ballet in Russia in the Hermitage is what makes it special not necessarily the ballet, particularly if you don't like... More
