We visit this completely renovated fort on a really hot day of October. The building is really vast and has undergone serious and long renovation works in the recent past. It dates from before the Islam era and was used until the eighties in the...More

Bahla Fort is an excellently done UNESCO site. This 12th to 16th century constructed fort and citadel is HUGE. It towers over the city and landscape and the labyrinth of rooms are fun to explore. The lack of placards or video tour is a gap,...More

A good place to visit if u are interested in history.... the place is big and people with disability would find it difficult to move around in the fort ....

If you’re around nizwa and jebel shams you definitely should drive through bahla! It has been a huge fort back in time! And the story about the witch city is still very interesting!

Grand fort with dominating towers and walls. A great place to explore and for photos. Less exhibits than neighbouring forts but still impressive nonetheless. An easy stop on the way to Jebel Shams. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

Excited to see a WHS 2 hours away from our hotel but really disappointed once there! All the exciting parts of the fort were closed off to public viewing. Lots of empty rooms with no explanation as to what they were used for.

We booked a private tour with Sunshine Tours and Bahla Fort was one of the stops we made. Our guide explained that the fort was built in sections and you can clearly see the sections. Entrance is 500 baiza. It is huge compared to the...More

A true fortress city. Probably the most fascinating of all firts here. Huge. Like a labyrinth. Get infirmed in advance as there is hardly any explanation.

Huge fort near Nizwa. The entrance fee is 500 baiza, and it is possible to visit the entire structure.
