This Médina was a pleasant surprise after other medinas where motor bikes were allowed. No fumes and more relaxed. I loved the shops, especially a great little shoe shop where I bought a pair of shoes. Not Babouche but similar. Fabulous.

My best friend and I took a 3 hour drive from Marrakesh to Essaouira. We didn't know what to really expect, but it was wonderful. Essaouira is a city on the beach, with an entirely different ambiance and feel than Marakesh. It is extremely laid...More

Loved this Medina with all its shops and ramparts and little alleys, such a more relaxed souk to shop in and sit at the little cafes and sit and people watch. Fabulous place.

In Morocco there are many Medina’s, souls and bazaars offering everything that you could ever want or desire to buy. The Essaouira Médina is one of the best as the merchants don’t hassle you, offer good prices, slightly negotiable but always adopt a friendly attitude...More

I loved this medina, as it was easy to navigate the sales pressure was less than others and so many wonderful offerings. I also found the prices better than in Marrakesh and Fez.
