I was able to visit San Sebastián on September 6, 2019. There were 4 military personnel guarding the entrance, but no metal detectors. As you can see from my photo, renovations appear to be almost complete. The military has rebuilt the church and they’ve been...More

The building looks majestic and a bit imposing. The interior gives a pleasant feel as is essential for a church. Looks quite old but could not verify the history.

Beautiful place with the beautiful architecture. Visited during the day before it gets crowded. While you in Negombo, this place is one of the icons.

Similar to Reims Cathedral in France you will find this church near the beach on San Sebastian Street. St. Sebastian is the patron saint of the city and construction started in 1936 but took 10 years to complete.

One of the latest additions of churches of 'Little Rome' recently constructed in the 30s-40s. The vast area caters as a school for the locals.

Negombo is mostly catholic and this church is important for the community. The gardens outside are pretty, in the gardens one can see the stations of the cross with sculptures made by local artists. The gardens and the church were beautifully decorated for Christmas.
