We were there during the day and it didnt impress us much. Went back during the night when the lights are on and the transformation is great. Do visit during night time.

Not stunning in the day time but worth a look. We had awalk around, took a few photos then left. I expect when lit at night it comes into its own.

The 3 remaining buildings sit quietly in the landscape by day. They display a beauty of design and proportion which delights the eye. However, those who wait until 5:30 pm will be rewarded with wonderful lighting and, on still nights, reflections of great beauty.

From Bulguksa one stop after Gyeongju National Museum (10 or 11). It a small area - you need appr. 30 minutes. Nice and quiet.

This beautiful pond surrounds the remains (reconstructed) of the Palace. There are well laid paths through lovely pine trees. At night the area is lit up creating a beautiful reflection of the palace

Only 3 buildings and you have to pay to visit. So FOR SURE prefer visiting during the night!! The observatory is not so far and beautiful too by night

This old palace from the Shilla Dynasty is a pleasant place to visit especially on a clear moonlit night. While the old temples and buildings have been redone so that they look relatively new, the true highlight is the amazing pond and reflections of the...More

I mean it's ok, but I found it overrated, went night time, quite busy, 3k won, for a walk around a pond, a bit meh. So don't set your expectations high, and you will probably enjoy.

The sunset should be c 1745 so with some allowance for the lights, a proper visit and hour bus to Seoul, I would suggest the 2000 bus.
