The only way up is via taxi or private car. The rates are standard and they will wait for you at the top. I suggest combing this little trip with a stop at the Castillo.

This is part of why you visit Cartagena. The views are incredible. I have already forgotten the history part of the Monastery.

The drive up the winding road to the peak of Mount Popa is filled with great views with more to come upon arrival. The chapel and flower filled courtyard are worth seeing and a short visit as part of a city tour.

Entrance fee 12,000 pesos, it’s probably the best view taking picture with Colombian flag and the cross in Cartagena . Went inside there will be everything about popa( of course ) not much to do but nice view tho

I thought the interior of the monastery was worth the price of the entrance ticket. It had an awesome view of the city and the countryside and had a nice chapel.

This is a very special place. Pope John Paul II was here and it sits atop a mountain over looking the city of Cartagena. Very tranquil and great to take city pictures.

We rented a taxi from Bocagrande for 60 pesos and paid for a guide. The view is spectacular! The courtyard is beautiful! It only takes 15 minutes to get there. It is very safe!

We went to the Monastery as part of our Hi Cartagena private Tour of the city. Our guide, Julie, made this place come alive for us by giving us background history and pointing out details that we would not have otherwise notices. We highly recommend...More

I have visited many monasteries in my life and this has to be one of the most beautiful; especially in simplicity. Set high atop a hilltop (currently, the highest building of them all in Cartagena) the views of the surrounding area are spectacular! The inner...More

There are a set of stairs at the entrance. I'm sorry but I don't recall if there is a wheelchair ramp. I do know there are tour companies that will take you there that will provide wheelchair access for you.
