Always enjoy Jinji lake area because I stay near that area from the Crown Plaza to Novotel to eating at the W hotel and Suzhou center. I enjoy watching the lake area near the Opera House as well with some good restaurant choices and concerts!

Great views and may places to visit if you are looking for English speaking people. There many restaurant that have activities (darts, pool, etc) to keep you busy and serve English type foods.

This lake is nicely maintained. It has a giant merry go round, boating options, well lighted joggers track, seating arrangement. Nice hang out in the morning or evening as it has excellent views during night till 10pm

It depends on the weather too. After rain the air is cleaner and clearer. If you are on holiday then I wouldn't worry. To get away from the smog head for less densely populated ares.
