Tourist trap for street food. Xiamen’s a top domestic tourist destination: many of the “locals” you see are just as clueless as you and probably less well travelled. It shows in the crowds queuing for undercooked prata (called “Indian flying cakes”), in the lumpy octopus...More

Our first tourist stop while visiting Xiamen. First taste of local snacks and food with many stalls, perhaps too many, to try out. An eye opener. Of course many stalls are selling the same food. Can find a few souvenirs shops.

Another tourist spot. Lots of food stalls and souvenir shops. Convenient to get there by bus. Beach is just across the road. Go with an empty stomach and be prepared to squeeze.

The place is just full of food stalls. Nothing much of the old village is presented. Near seaside. Too touristic.
