must be 150 bars, restaurants and discos in a three block radius and the noise continues into the early morning

I noticed a LOT more graffiti in the Mariscal neighborhood compared to when I was there a couple of years ago. Nevertheless, it's not a bad area, but appears to be going through some changes. I noticed more empty buildings, which I hope is temporary....More

We stayed in a hotel in this area because I read that this was one of the safer areas. Well it didn't feel that way. We visited around 4 PM and it just didn't feel right. There were police cars everywhere but still... We also...More

Interesting little area. There are a good amount of bars, restaurants and places to check out for a little shopping. At night it CAN get a bit dodgy especially into the late-late night. So the later the night, the more the demographic changes.

We walked through the Mariscal District of Quito in the afternoon, so we cannot comment on the nightlife there, which I understand is pretty vibrant. There were some colorful buildings and murals, and the neighborhood is photogenic. Our last stop in the area was the...More

This little part of Quito is very happening by day and by night. They have little boutique hotels everywhere and quite the nightlife. From beer halls to steak joints to coffee shops. You will find everything you need in this area. Stay away from the...More

Lots of shops, restaurants, clubs, music, etc., and easy walking distance from the excellent JWMarriott hotel we were staying at. We really did fall in love with Quito and the Ecuadoreans and wished we were staying longer.

Mariscal is the modern part of town. It is safe, agreeable and modern. You find many restaurants (mostly with international cuisine) and bars in the area. Adjacent park with souvenir stands. Good for a stroll and going out and night.
