Built in 1860 but a volcanic cement mix brought in from Rome. Due to the strong mix, the lighthouse stands today as it did more than 150 years ago. It's a beautiful building that definitely requires a visit if you are in Punta del Este....More
A cute structure and somewhat unique in that it is far above the water and you can walk around it. Nothing else much to note as you can't go in. By the pretty blue church and a short walk from the cruise ship tender dock.
Start with a very slow walk around the port side of Punta del Este, head towards the sea front and around the peninusla.
We actually started at SOHO restaurant by the port, so we were very well fed before starting
