Hi, it should be safe especially as it’s only 4 min walk but maybe your hotel can advise. We found the turkish people very friendly and helpful. Wear comfortable shoes with a grip, like trainers as some parts of the floor in Ephesus is slippery. A bottle of water is also a good idea although there are Bazaars at either end of Ephesus.
From bus station to hotel - you may want to treat yourself to a taxi! It may be hot dragging your luggage. Ask the price before you set off. They are reasonable. Enjoy!
