This is a monumental square with fountains, and walking boulevards around the statue of the 13 Century Mongol warlord Amir Timur.

If you go during the day at the weekend, you might see families with their sons in military uniform taking photographs here. Amir Temur was/is Uzbekistan's hero from history, and they clearly still honour him.

Gives a great glimpse of the past life! A lovely stroll in the evening in a well maintained garden with glimpses of so many buildings all around it. A must do.

I never knew that Amir Temur was a major figure in Uzbek history until now. It was great to see a memorial dedicated to his legacy.
