I’m not sure why this is called the “Technology” Museum as there is nothing technological about it. It’s a museum about Brunei customs and traditions. It’s not particularly realistic. If going to Sarawak, the Cultural Museum in Kuching is far better. But given that it’s...More

It might not be the Technology museum that you have in mind :) it is a museum that is telling the story of people, who live in the water villages and what "technologies" they use for life. It is free and you can take photos...More

We went on December 15th 2018 and it was closed for renovations. I hope they open it again soon because it was one of my favorite places for visitors to learn a bit about Brunei’s history. It is a shame that it is closed.

When we visited the museum, we were the only visitors there. The exhibits consisted mostly of little huts with mannequins inside depicting use of equipment for work and living. Honestly, I felt I wouldn’t have missed much if I had skipped a visit there.

Very nice displays on two levels of traditional Brunei culture, arts and crafts from woodworking to silver/goldsmiths, bronze, textiles, etc. showing traditional tools and culture. There were many local families visiting when we were there and the children were especially fascinated by this walk-through museum...More

Our guide brought us here and I'm glad for the experience. It is not technology, really, but rather the display of technology of the early people in the water villages. The dioramas and various exhibits show how the people survived off the land, and the...More

This is not what you think of when you think of technology, but the museum displays the technology of earlier peoples, showing in various exhibits how they survived off the land, making practical and beautiful things that supported their culture and met their practical needs...More
