We had a private tour for two people with Best Baku Tours. Our guide Hamran was great from start to finish. We learnt all about Azerbaijan from its history to culture to modern day living. Highly recommend a visit.

It is an hour's ride from Baku and it is possible to walk around the rock carvings. If you haven't seen any before, then you should go. Howevr, we have seen better ones elsewhere. Do have a good look in the museum, which is excellent

I went in mid July. Shahdag can be bright and sunny one day and cold, wet and windy the next day. Be prepared for both, and carry warm clothes. Gabala was pleasant, not very hot.
