We were blessed to meet with one of the head Lamas at Kopan Monastery when we visited this beautiful monastery. The building is beautiful, and the surrounding gardens are peaceful and also quite lovely.

The monastery is placed high in the hills overlooking Kathmandu. The builds and gardens were well kept. I experienced a deep sense of serenity as I walked around the gardens. It was lovely to see lots of young trainees walking and playing in the gardens....More

You can easily arrange a taxi while at the monastery so you don’t need to do it ahead of time. A few days before you leave Kopan ask at their office how much time they need to book you a taxi.
