Mostly all shops are open selling consumbales etc.But many also observe holidays especially in the afternoons

Ethiopian Birr is the currency almost all the marketgoers use. However, if you give them USD or Euro they will be happy esp if you are in a big shop or hotel.

Lots of stuff. Department store for the city. Junk recycled, new stuff, old, second-hand, etc. Get guide and be careful.
