Our tour was switched from Xunantunich to Altun Ha last minute and I think it turned out even better! Cassandra was very informative and a fun guide. She provided us a lot of history and took the time to take photos and explain Mayan history....More

I was in Belize City and decided to go see the ruins of the Mayan. I was not disappointed. The guide gave a complete historial background of the Mayan People and it was great. Whether we were making sounds echo from a rock or pretending...More

As others have said, if you are in Belize City and only have 2 hours, then go see this Mayan site. It is small with only two plazas and 60% has been excavated. Probably only had a population of 3000. Be sure to spray for...More

Not far from Belize city, enjoyed the visit, if you are interesting in history and ancient civilization worth visiting. You can climb on top of the pyramid and enjoy the view and interesting historical facts can be learned on site.

Definitely worth the quick trip from BC. Rented a car so I dont know about tours. They do have guides though too at the sight. Snacks are expensive there. Souvenirs for sale. The visitor centre explains the history very well and has the jade head.

Within an hours drive, we arrived back in history. We were lucky to be the only group there and got to soak up the history in our time. We are able to climb up each structure and really take in the views. It is a...More

Originally I was concerned about going here as my husband has some mobility issues, & I wasn’t sure about the steps. We decided to go anyway and we’re not disappointed - we didn’t have to climb any steps! This is a good spot for families...More

I highly recommend a private guide for at least at a couple of the ruins you visit in Belize so that you get a deeper understanding on the Mayan culture and mysticism. Each sacred place mayan ruin is totally different and unique and with so...More

I took the tour with the cruise line. You can Google tour guides in Belize and select from there. I now live in Belmopan, Belize. If you can't find what you want, let me know and I will make some contacts.

It's very safe. Tour companies are best. There really are no crowds since the area is so large.
