I visited the city while on the Baltic cruise. The only time we walked around on our own w/o taking an excursion through the cruise line. . Worked out well since the old town is walkable on your own. Took a local 1-hour tour through...More
Klaipeda Old Town is a very pretty area, with interesting buildings and attractive tree lined streets. There are lots of shops and restaurants here, and a craft market held in the main square. The tourist information shop is also near the square, and a good...More
WE were on a excursion landed here at the end had a great beer locally brewed and the market place was full of people selling amber and more amber. We walked around the city and saw the few sights locally

Hi! No hop-on-hop-off-bus necessary in Klaipeda as the Old City is very compact and lovely to walk around. Please check the official homepage of Klaipeda City for any special events and do not miss the visit to their Sea Museum (Marine Museum) and the Curonian Spit, just google their homepages as tripadvisor does not allow to write the webside links there in the answer. Good luck and sekmes!
