We took the Big Bus river tour which at 75 minutes is long enough to see the sights from Margaret's Island down to the 'Whale'. The river provides the ideal opportunity to see many of the major buildings and landmarks without interruption.

The Parlament Building in Budapest is one of my favorites to look at. Going inside to tour was even better. Grand and beautiful to see from the River at night.

We went on Sunset sight seeing river cruise, which was part of our "Hop on Hop off bus" ticket. Was worth while, we thoroughly enjoyed the sites.

Danube river is massive! It plays such a crucial role between Boeda and Pest. Definitely worth a river cruise ( for example as included in a sightseeing bus ticket). Make sure you often cross the river to get the best of both parts of the...More

I'm not hugely travelled, but I've seen the banks of the Seine in Paris, the Vltava river in central Prague, and of course the Thames in London. There are no comparisons.

Regardless of whether you take a Danube river cruise or are cruising the Danube from an upscale boat, the Danube is the best way to see picturesque Budapest during the day and at night. Everyone knows the river is scenic but the views from the...More

I always like watching this mysterious river. It's sometimes very calm but it can be very dangerous, too. It divides the Hungarian capital city into two parts: Buda and Pest. I like both sides but I think there should be more trees, flowers, benches and...More

Both sides of the river are cut off from the city by highways. Instead of trees and benches and small cafes, there is only a thin strip of pedestrian pavement along a busy road. On the Buda side it is worse, the pedestian pavement is...More

We arrived via Viking ship to the beautiful city of Budapest and the first thing you notice is the smell of the river. The sights along the river are beautiful, and striking (bronze shoes). The river by night dances with lights and is gorgeous. But...More

Hi... the one we selected, without dinner, was touting for passenger along the riverside. The company was called Silver Line. Trip took one hour. Advise not to take a dinner cruise, as the food will likely be so-so and you... More

I do not know. It depends on the weather. I remember that in 2013 there was no river cruise for a week because of flood.Do not worry, cruise liners always find a way to do the excursions.
