You ride on a train for about 10 minutes, then a kilometre and a half walk seeing the caves. We didn’t find this a hard walk, but I did see some older people struggling. Beautiful stalagmites and stalactites of all sizes. Then a ride back...More

The caves themselves are magnificent, but being stuck in a mob of over 100 people jockeying for selfies and talking over the guide was stressful and distracting. [This is not an exaggeration, our guide mentioned there were 110 people on our tour.] Also, they need...More

This is likely one of the best cave systems available for tourists to visit and view! It is an easy walk through the system...aided by a small train that takes one down and then back up to the surface. The views are simply stunning! A...More

Great little train ride into and out of the cave system. An informative guide who you walk through the cave system with in a small group. Plenty of souvenir shops outside and places to eat and drink. Well worth a visit.

Postojna cave is the popular cave to visit therefore there was big tourist crowds. However it is not as impressive as Stockjan cave which is on the Unesco heritage list and Postojna is not. Postojna is a very large cave with a lot of stalagmites...More

A beautiful and magical experience. The train ride is nice so you can relax and just enjoy the formations. Then there is a lovely walk around with explanation. You can take time to see and learn all about the cave.

Impressive cave system with only about 10% opened to the public. So enormous that only a train ride can whizz you past the rock formations to the bigger chambers. A must visit. There are restaurants just outside the cave entrance.

We have visited caves in UK Australia and elsewhere. But nothing, just nothing compares to this. It is vast beyond comprehension there are miles and miles of caves, stalectites and stalecmites of incredibly variety. All of this starts with an underground electric train journey. It...More
