Absolutely stunning eye catching piece of medieval architecture, very different in style to that of wawel castle, beautiful was to enter the old town of krakow.

this is the first thing you will see when starting your visitfrom the florian gate side of town and its big and is part of the ramparts tour but still as impressive from the outside

I got to visit the area so early in the morning I couldn’t go in. But it was a beautiful, interesting sight to see from the outside too. I bet it is historically fascinating once you get in!

The Barbakan is a surviving piece of defensive building at the Northern edge of the old town. Of unusual shape it sits oddly on its own.
