Very unique historical view, walking down the street almost takes you back in time. If you close your eyes you can almost picture yourself in the late 1800’s shopping.

Had a great visit to Melbourne for the weekend. I hadn't been for nine years and my partner had never visited before. Degraves Street was well worth seeing with the many bars, cafes and other retail surprises, all tucked away in a wonderful laneway with...More

If you can't find a good coffee here you're just not looking. The street dining captures Melbourne's multicultural difference. I love just sitting there with a strong black coffee and people watch. It is fascinating!

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary

city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

The street itself is open all hours, however the businesses within it vary. Depending on the day of the week, some open as early as 7 am for breakfast and close at 21:30 or 23:00.
