The lake Wabby was a very quiet spot on Fraser Island. There were only a few other people when we were there. We had a great swim. The lake is full of large and very small fish that came to tickle us as we lay...More

Situated just north of Eurong Beach Resort, this spot is easy to miss. There is adequate parking and it is only a short easy walk to the lookout over the lake. As the trees below have grown so high, not a lot of the lake...More

This lake is much more secluded than Lake Mackenzie and therefore quieter. However, it is really rather difficult to get to down a long sand path and I’m not sure it’s really worth the hard slog.

As the lake is surrounded by a Sand Blow it is estimated that the lake will disappear in about 10 years as the blow will engulf it. Access if physical requiring a 1.5 km hike down lots of steps to get to the lake. We...More

Don't miss this one! We walked 2kms along an easy sandy track and then across golden sand dunes to get to the lake. The lake is full of curious catfish and is a beautiful emerald colour. No toilets at the lake only at the start...More

This is by far the most beautiful place I've ever seen. Well worth the 45min walk to get to the lake. Pitty it will be gone in 20 years.

One not to be missed. Follow the sand dunes until you get to the bottom and then relax in the cool water and watch the fish swimming around you.

A beautiful walk to a beautiful lake set beside a gigantic sand dune. Option to walk to the lake from either the inland car park (15-20 minutes) or from the beach car park (maybe 40 minutes. Both are beautiful walks through lovely scenery.

The start of the walk would be fairly easily missed if you were racing along the beach at 80km/hr, as it is marked only by a short sign. There were a few cars parked there when we went there, which was a giveaway, but otherwise...More
