If hiring a 4 x 4 for an off road trip, the beach drive is a must to get to the many places along the route. Beware of the high tide times, but the hire company gives a fantastic briefing, map and tide times.
This is a cool experience that visitors SHOULD NOT miss out. The 75 mile beach drive is really great. We really loved it. You can see the Maheno shipwreck, visit the Indian hill and Eli creek. Lovely experience.
