Driving in a 4x4 down this beach is a must do. Make sure you listen to your 4x4 hire place to help prevent getting bogged. You do need to watch out for planes landing and taking off on the beach; also people walking as they...More

You need a 4x4 or similar to drive down this beach. We were on a tour and the bus was especially equipped for the terrain. It was fun to drive over bumps at speed, and the beach is also beautiful when you stop to take...More

If hiring a 4 x 4 for an off road trip, the beach drive is a must to get to the many places along the route. Beware of the high tide times, but the hire company gives a fantastic briefing, map and tide times.

The beach is a motorway for very experienced 4WD drivers. It’s a unique experience that you must do once.

This is a cool experience that visitors SHOULD NOT miss out. The 75 mile beach drive is really great. We really loved it. You can see the Maheno shipwreck, visit the Indian hill and Eli creek. Lovely experience.

The beach itself isn't great for swimming (sharks, stingers & rough seas are all factors). However, the natural beauty you can access next to the beach (Eli Creek/The Pinnacles) and via it is amazing.

Walk the beach anytime but especially just before sunset. The colours it can generate are truly breathtaking. Heaven for photographers. During the day the beach stretches out revealing little alcoves and lots of driftwood whose shapes defy description. The Bay is so tranquil and you...More
