Depending on what your interests are, you can go on a short or a long hike, swim in the cool waters, or just sit down and have a picnic.

Whilst water level down and despite very warm weather the water was very very cold. Easy walk to water from the car park, nice electric BBQ and picnic shelters

This place is worth the visit to the West MacDonnell Range. It's an oasis in the middle of the desert. 1 hour and a half from Alice Spring.

This is a popular location to picnic and swim. While water levels low following a long period of dry weather, still plenty of swimming space. Just beware that in May, with little sun on the waterhole, the water temperature was arctic in its feel. Most...More

That seems like a lot of money for what is an hours drive? Not sure about hitchhiking, probably wouldn't recommend it. Wonder how much a taxi would charge?
